Computer Science Undergraduate Student Board

Dr. Gopal Pandurangan will be presenting on theory of computing and algorithms research on April 16 at 3 PM in LWSN B134. Come to hear about the research currently being done at Purdue. Refreshments will be provided.

We are looking for highly motivated Computer Science students to become mentors for new students next fall.

An information session will be held on April 2 at 6 PM in LWSN 3102 as an intermission during the UPE Quiz Bowl. You can attend the Quiz Bowl and get information on the mentoring program.

Dr. Clifton will be speaking on Data Mining this Friday, March 28 at 1:30 PM in LWSN 1106. Come join us for a live presentation, Q&A, and refreshments.

Our purpose is to address problems of the department, network students and companies, and make the undergraduate voice heard throughout the CS community. We sponsor events such as the Corporate Partners Mixer and the Feedback Forum, in addition to addressing issues students are having within the department.

We have openings on our board for a limited number of highly motivated and enthusiastic freshmen.

Come to the CS Grad School Panel on February 13th to ask questions, get answers, and hear a brief presentation regarding graduate school in the field of Computer Science. The panel is comprised of current graduate students at Purdue (both international and not). Free food too!

Come to the CS Orgs Callout on January 29th to learn more about any of the student organizations affiliated with the Computer Science Department and how to join them. Various beverages will be provided.

Sorry this wasn't up earlier, everyone! The Fall 2007 Mentee signup is online here . If you are a freshman in computer science this year, apply! A mentor is able to help you get acquainted with the Lawson building, Linux shells, text editors, and answer any other questions you have about Purdue. The mentee program runs during the fall semester only but we will applications at late as the end of October.

We are looking for highly motivated computer science students to become mentors for new students next fall. The purpose of the CS mentoring program is to help new students adjust to Purdue and our CS department.

As a mentor, you are not just a tutor. You are there to be a friend, an experienced Purdue student, and an approachable resource. You are there to help your mentee get involved in the CS community.

If you are interested in enriching the CS department by being a mentor in Fall 2007, please fill out the CS Mentor Application. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, April 18.
